Uniform System of Assessment refers to a system of school – based evaluation of students that covers all aspects of the students’ development. It is a developmental process of assessment which emphasizes on evaluation and assessment of broad based learning and behavioural outcomes on the other.
The scheme is thus a curricular initiative, attempting to shift emphasis from testing to holistic learning. It aims at creating good citizens possessing sound health, appropriate skills and desirable qualities besides academic excellence. It is hoped that this will equip the learners to meet the challenges of life with confidence and success.
Assessment of students will be done in two Terms (Term 1 & Term 2) in the following two areas:
- Scholastic area: This includes assessment of students in the various subjects in the curriculum designed for respective classes. The assessment will comprise of the following areas:
- Class/Periodic Tests/ Term Exams in all the subjects taught.
- Notebook maintenance and submission for every subject.
- Subject Enrichment Activities aimed at enhancing the understanding and skills of the students. These activities will be carried out throughout the term, however, they will be evaluated at the term end.
- Co-Scholastic Activities: For the holistic development of the student, co-curricular activities in the following areas will be carried out by the school and students will be graded term-wise on a three-point grading scale.
- Work Education – Skill based activities resulting in goods or services useful to the community
- Art Education – Visual and Performing Art.
- Health and Physical Education (Sports, Yoga etc.)
